Paula Corbin Jones, a former Arkansas state employee, has filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump alleging that he made an improper payment to her during the 2016 presidential election.

Jones alleges that Trump paid her $3 million to keep quiet about an alleged affair they had in the 1990s. The payment was allegedly made through Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

The lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in New York, also alleges that Trump violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Jones is seeking damages of at least $10 million.

Trump has denied the allegations and has called the lawsuit "a political witch hunt." The White House has not yet commented on the lawsuit.

The lawsuit comes as Trump is facing a number of legal challenges, including investigations into his campaign's possible ties to Russia and his alleged obstruction of justice in the FBI's investigation of his administration.
